Founded in 1945, Epsom Camera Club caters for photographers of all standards. The Club is friendly and informal, aiming to encourage members to improve and expand their photographic horizons by sharing skills, ideas and knowledge in both traditional and digital forms of photography. This is both directly within the programme and at other times on an informal basis. Members are encouraged to seek distinctions of the Royal Photographic Society and Photographic Alliance of Great Britain.

MONDAY MEETINGS
The Club meets on Monday evenings at 7.45 for 8.00pm in The Longmead Centre, Sefton Road, Epsom, Surrey KT19 9HG. (map)
Meetings take place between September and June and fall into a number of categories.
Members' Competitions: Members print and slide competitions (click here for entry forms) are held regularly, allowing members to enter their own work for the judge's comments. All members are encouraged to enter these competitions, the prints are judged in 3 sections, the slides in two sections. There are cumulative trophies for the main competitions through the year. Annual Exhibition: This is commented on and judged on a club evening and then displayed at a local venue, usually for a week at Bourne Hall, Ewell.
League Competitions: The Club competes in the Surrey Photographic Federation League Competitions. These involve a competition within a group of 3 or 4 clubs, followed by a knockout competition for the group winners. Each club selects a panel of 8 prints and 8 slides, with each image being marked out of 10. This offers an excellent opportunity to see what other clubs are producing and providing ideas and hints on improving our own work. Epsom Camera Club won the Slide Section in 1993-94, 1994-95 and 1996-97.
Other Competitions: Friendly competitions are also held occasionally.
Talks: Both members and visiting speakers show their work; this may be an opportunity to see some top quality work or specifically to learn more about a particular aspect of photography.
OTHER ACTIVITIES
Workshops: These are often lead by experienced club members, although occasionally by a visiting photographer. Workshops may take the form of a demonstration or members may be asked to bring their cameras and have the opportunity to take some pictures. They may form part of the formal program or be held less formally in a members home depending on need.
Field Trips: These may be held during the summer, particularly on aspects of nature photography. They are not a formal part of the Club's programme and depend upon demand.
